Resolving Traffic Tickets
If you have received a traffic citation, you have several options to resolve it.
Pay the Fine
Paying the fine is an admission of guilt and will be reported to the Department of Public Safety (DPS).
Request a Defensive Driving Course
You may be eligible to take a driving safety course to have your ticket dismissed. Eligibility requirements apply.
Request Deferred Disposition (Probation)
You can ask for deferred disposition, which is a probationary period. If you successfully complete the terms, your case will be dismissed.
Plead Not Guilty
You have the right to a trial to contest your citation. You must appear in court to enter a plea.
